Give God the Blues

God don’t hate the Muslims
God don’t hate the Jews
God don’t hate the Christians
But we all give God the blues
God don’t hate the atheists
The Buddhists or the Hindus
God loves everybody
But we all give God the blues
God ain’t no Republican
He ain’t no Democrat
He ain’t even Independent
God’s above all that
Bigger than religion
He’s got a better plan
The sign says God’s “gone fishin’
For the soul of every man,”
God don’t hate the Muslims
God don’t hate the Jews
God don’t hate the Christians
But we all give God the blues
An’ God don’t hate the atheists
The Buddhists or the Hindus

God loves everybody
But we all give God the blues
(instrumental)
God loves old bartenders
The preachers the whores and fools
And that karaoke singer
Just a-ruinin’ “Don’t be cruel”
The winners and the losers
The prisoners and the free
All the saints and all the sinners
Even you an’ even me
God don’t hate the Muslims
God don’t hate the Jews
God don’t hate the Christians
But we all give God the blues
An’ God don’t hate the atheists
The Buddhists or the Hindus
God loves everybody
But we all give God the blues
God loves everybody
But we all give God the blues
Yeah we all give God the blues
Yeah we all give God the blues

I Wish ::: Logic featuring Lowkey and Renee Soul

[Intro]
[Renee Soul]

(Vocals)

[Logic]
[Verse 1]

Listen
Yeah
Look
I wish there wasn’t no system
I wish death on almost every other politician
I wish freedom for all my brothers stuck in prison
I wish people weren’t led by the television
I wish the kids turned against the media
Don’t believe everything you read on Wikipedia
Africa I wish that we were feeding ya and not raping ya wealth
I wish that people thought about somebody else before themself
Listen, then maybe then we’d all live good B
If you need it then I got that the way it should be
Life’s nowhere near where it could be
Sometimes I wish that I was Lowkey and they come and took me
Cause I feel kinda bad in my heart cause I feel the first bang so it’s hard yeah we bust case
ITunes number 1 yeah forget paves
Forget any of the offers that the labels make

[Renee Soul]
[Hook]

I wish
I wish that all my wrongs were right
And I wish
I wish that I could change my life
So my kids
Would never have to sacrifice
Like I did
So I give
And they live
People have to realize
That we live
We’re living in some crazy times
And I wish
I wish that we would all unite
And I wish
I wish I wish I wish

[Logic]
[Verse 2]

I wish for peace in every country
I wish for a stress-less life for my mummy
I wish that no kid went hungry
Cause trust me, if I had enough money
I’d fill up every hungry kid’s tummy
I wish that money gets abolished
So anyone can give everything to their kids never can’t afford it
I wish the whole world was able to live lawless
I wish that there wasn’t no such thing as being the poorest
I wish we didn’t know what more is
I wish that everyone saw everyone as beautiful and gorgeous
I wish for a lot of things
I wish that I was young and I still played for ???
Look, I don’t wish for the fame or the glamour
I wish for everyone to understand us
See what I really wish for will probably never be
I wish Africa and Palestine were free

[Renee Soul]
[Hook]

I wish
I wish that all my wrongs were right
And I wish
I wish that I could change my life
So my kids
Would never have to sacrifice
Like I did
So I give
And they live
People have to realize
That we live
We’re living in some crazy times
And I wish
I wish that we would all unite
And I wish
I wish I wish I wish
(Vocals)

[Lowkey]
[Verse 3]

I wish I could see freedom for the Irish
And I wish you could see deeper than my iris
As I write this I wish
People would define it in a way that wasn’t dictated by dividers and conquerors
Tell us conscious is what our genre is
You think their dominance is monstrous
But a bomb isn’t stronger than a continent
Tell us we’re incompetent
That’s nonsense we’re just onto them
My confidence is shocking them
Not all open hands and open mouths
Dry your tears cause the pioneers of global south
That is why we’re here
Never will I appear on Oprah’s couch
Only in the press when the feds put my photo out
They wonder why the mad and young are grabbing guns (Why?)
But you could speak with your hands if you didn’t have a tongue
Even that’s better than sitting down sad and numb
At times I wish I was Gaberlunzie and I was about to have a son
Scratch that had a baby girl
Live twice and bring life to this crazy world
Be on rap congrats for the new arrival
I’m stuck in Britain accustomed to living suicidal
But not for much longer
I realize that our culture is a weapon
And nowadays I’m much stronger
Simply to exist is what I wish
Retirement or not what I have written is timeless

…it is your love that can cure it…

BawaSriLanka75_1

No matter what illness or disappointment there is,
it is your love that can cure it.
No matter how a craziness came, i
t is your love and your support that are the cure.
Your love, your comfort, your happiness, your compassion,
your speech, and your words must change hatred.
No matter what has disappointed him,
no matter what hatred he has,
no matter what has afflicted him or worn him out,
you will be able to see that state.
Then your love must comfort him.
Patience, love, compassion, tolerance,
peace, and justice must embrace him.
God’s qualities must embrace him.
It is your love that can transform that hatred,
that divisiveness, and that illness.
That is God’s psychology.

Wisdom of St. Theresa of Avila…

teresa_avila_gerard

This magnificent refuge is inside you. Enter. Shatter the darkness that shrouds the doorway… Be bold. Be humble. Put away the incense and forget the incantations they taught you. Ask no permission from the authorities. Close your eyes and follow your breath to the still place that leads to the invisible path that leads you home.

God, our Mother and Father…

Bawa_3

My very precious children, let us speak further about the language and qualities of the child. My precious children, when a baby emerges from its mother, it cries, “Amma, Amma!” That sound gladdens the mother’s heart and brings joy to all those nearby. Isn’t it a sound which makes everyone want to pick up the child and kiss it? Isn’t it a sound which makes everyone happy? Does it make people cry? Certainly not. In fact, the same kind of sound is also made by sheep, by cows, and by many other animals. No matter what language you speak, that sound brings coolness, comfort, and gladness to the heart. Even though a mother may suffer and scream in pain and torment, even though she may come close to death when giving birth, as soon as she hears the sound of the baby’s cry, she is soothed, she forgets all her pain, and her heart is comforted. She lifts the child to her heart, embraces it, and kisses it as soon as she hears that sound.

In just the same way God is both our Father and our Mother. How much pain He suffers to deliver us from this world of ignorance, from this world of sin, this world of karma, this world of anger! He has such a heavy burden to endure. Indeed, He carries all our burdens for us, and He shares all our suffering and torment in this world. He shares our pain and suffers the burden of carrying us.

When we emerge from this world of the five elements, this world of desire, mind, karma, anger, jealousy, and arrogance which all try to swallow us, if we say, “Amma,” or, ”My Father, my God!” that sound immediately soothes Him. It brings coolness and comfort, not only to God,our Father, but to all living creatures. They want to gather us to their hearts, to kiss and embrace us. Even if we have committed so many faults, so many sins, and caused so much suffering, even if we live forgetting our Father who is God, even if we despise God, even if we deny the existence of God, even if we scold God, see how tolerant He is. He continues to do His duty no matter what we do. Even though our parents may forget us, God comes to help and protect us no matter where we are. We must understand how God protects us. If we understand that, we will know how He lives with us, always helping and protecting us. We will realize ourselves and Him.

Prayer for Peace Day by Sister Rosemarie

dove

Fountain of Everlasting Peace and Healing Balm,
Wash over our wounds of war, violence, and hatred,
Scrub deep the stains that destroy the fabric of Your Existence,
Mend the tattered threads of the Cloak of Your Majesty,
The delicate web of the universe which is Your Life and Love…
A prophet of non-violence You have raised up for Truth,
Reflecting the Source of Your Unfathomable Wisdom,
Flowing from the One Great Abyss of Creation’s Glory,
Open our minds to hear Your Voice speaking Peace this day,
Born from One Cosmic Egg, we are one family in You,
Help us to learn forgiveness, kindness, tolerance,
Greatness of mind and heart,
So that destroying all weapons of war,
Burying all animosities and differences,
We may hear the Divine Harmony of Your Love,
Preserving our blue-jewel-earth-planet,
Spinning the dance of a Mother’s Infinite Tenderness,
That draws all into Unity in one Compassionate Heart.
Bestow the Blissful Smile of sun and rain which is Your Divine Presence
Making Peace grow in our hearts as seeds for a new era,
Birthing the song of non-violence
Which blesses our world with Peace
Eternal.
